AGES: 7-14

Imaginations run wild as students are given the unique opportunity to learn about and play with a variety of puppets and ways to use them. They will work with us to build their own puppets, sets, and scenery for original camper-created puppet shows whose stories will be drawn from classic fairy tales, utilizing improv, music, and song to bring them to life!

A fully staged show on the last day of camp for family and friends!

Performers will enjoy days packed with theater activities. Each day during the one-week session will include rehearsal time to prepare for the final performances, as well as improvisation, theater games, and arts & crafts in our overflowing art room.

Actors will work together to craft a cabaret performance showcasing iconic music from the hottest contemporary Broadway musicals.

Be careful what you wish for, as Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of their groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical.  Into the Woods JR.features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch — in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.

The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse, and wind up changed forever.

With unforgettable roles, minimal dancing and no chorus, Into the Woods JR. showcases a medium-sized ensemble of talented singers and actors. The sophisticated score has been adapted to make it more accessible to young performers.

Session is TWO WEEKS long!

Our Final Main Stage Production and Tech rehearsal takes place on last day of Camp. Stage performances will take place at the Murrells Inlet Community Theater on Friday, July 26, Saturday 27, and possibly Sunday, July 28. Times TBA.
